Theo

Peregrine Falcon

Theo came to the Raptor Center from Fremont County after we received a report of a “strange looking hawk” dragging its wing through a field. It was immediately apparent that Theo’s condition was critical. We found that Theo’s left ulna had been shattered.

Any wing injury can be difficult to heal, but a shattered bone could mean the end of that bird’s life. Still, the veterinarian worked hard to try to mend Theo’s shattered ulna with surgery and laser therapy. After months of rest and observation, the bone finally healed, but not well enough to sustain flight.

We saw something special in this bright-eyed falcon, so he joined our team with the name Prometheus, inspired by his incredible strength and will to survive. His charm, charisma, and gentle nature as an educator earned him the nickname Theo.
