Peregrine Falcon
An unknown collision brought this beautiful male to the Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center in July 2013 from Fremont County, CO. The bird had suffered multiple fractures to the left ulna of the wing. The
skilled hands of the doctors at Veterinary Associates were put to the test with this bird. Theo’s complex fractures required not only surgery, but also laser treatments to promote healing. After months of treatment, the bone fragments finally mended, but unfortunately
not in a condition that would allow for flight. The peregrine’s spirit and
will to survive inspired his name, Prometheus, wisest of the Greek Titans. His charm and charisma has earned him the nickname “Theo”, and a honored place among our raptor ambassadors.
