We categorize our news into Staff Appointments (periodic), Ranger Ramblings (monthly), Nature Journal (quarterly), Arkansas Valley Audubon Society (AVAS) Bird Walk Reports (monthly), and Other News (periodic).

Thirteen participants joined us on the December 28, 2024, walk on a cold, clear morning and saw 19 bird species.
Starting January 1, 2025, we’re removing the $5 parking fee at our River Campus. This step is part of our commitment to breaking down barriers to outdoor recreation and ensuring that nature remains open to all. Please support our commitment to equitable access for all by donating today!

The 2024 Winter Solstice Celebration was, without a doubt, our biggest and best yet! We were thrilled to host over 250 community members who bundled up and came down to enjoy a FREE evening of festivities with us at the River Campus.
We can all feel that the crisp air of winter has officially settled in. Animals are hunkering down and plants are entering dormancy to conserve their resources until warmer conditions return. But from tomorrow until midsummer, we can rejoice knowing we will have increasingly more hours of light each day, gradually bringing the promise of brighter, longer days ahead!

Twelve people joined us on the November 23, 2024, walk on a crisp beautiful morning and saw 17 bird species.
Muki is one of our beloved Earthkeeper Nature School learners! He and his family benefit from an NWDC youth program scholarship to help with his annual tuition.
