Peregrine Falcon
An unfortunate collision with an unknown object left Cliffe with a dislocated shoulder near Westcliffe, CO. Dislocations in birds are very serious injuries. If treated within a day or two of injury, there can be a good chance of recovery. But in Cliffe's case, he was not found for several days. Fortunately for Cliffe, some kind folks found him and sent him our way for help. With the help of our veterinarin, we treated Cliffe's shoulder, but it did not heal well. Cliffe no longer has the power or motion in his shoulder to support flight and cannot return to the wild. Cliffe has a charming personality and we have made a request to federal agencies for him to remain here as one of our resident raptor ambassadors.
