Turkey Vulture
Lurch was found along a roadside in western Colorado. He was taken to a wildlife center in the area and treated for a fractured humerus bone. Due to the nature of the fracture, Lurch was left with a disabled wing. He stayed at that center for 20 years as an educational resident. Then, that center had to shut its doors, and Lurch was placed with another educator for a couple of years. Unfortunately, that facility closed as well, and once again Lurch was in search of a new home. Luckily he found the NWDC Raptor Center! Lurch joined our team as an educational ambassador bird in 2007. Charming, social, and charismatic, Lurch love to give raptor presentations to the public and warms the hearts of everyone he meets!
