Eastern Screech Owl

Morpheus started her journey at a different center in Nebraska. She was brought in after a face-first collision that, unfortunately, left her blind in one eye.

At her previous home, Morpheus was trained to preform flight demonstrations, showing the nearly silent flight of owls. As she got older, her handlers began to realize that flight demonstrations were becoming stressful for Morpheus. They began looking for a retirement home for her.

They thought of us, and we were more than happy for this calm little owl to join us as an ambassador! Morpheus is especially good at teaching young visitors because of her endearing size.
