October 2024 – Ranger Ramblings

We participated in a silent hike, an egg dissection, and an egg experiment (pictured above), which was my favorite activity of the day.

After we fed and monitored the little owlets for a few days, we moved them out to their new and temporary home.

Often wheel-like or cylindrical “snowballs” are formed naturally as chunks of snow roll down hill picking up further snow along the way.

A highlight of the past month for me was hiking with a group of kids from the Boys and Girls Club to the top of Lookout Point.

We observed many trees that had been chewed and knocked over, and with the recent snow even some beaver track!

On Thursday August 8th, the Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center team had an incredible staff retreat at the Mountain Campus!
