December 2024 – Ranger Ramblings

A highlight of the past month for me was hiking with a group of kids from the Boys and Girls Club to the top of Lookout Point.

On the first day of the new year, families and nature enthusiasts embraced the outdoors and took literal steps towards a healthy lifestyle.

Many children enjoy our camps so much that they return year after year, but it’s equally awesome having new campers join in the fun.

Turkey vultures—gross but loveable creatures—have returned from their annual migration south for the winter!

While many aspects of nature slow down in the colder months, we can still observe the many creatures that are still out and about.

After we fed and monitored the little owlets for a few days, we moved them out to their new and temporary home.
