Outdoor Skills & Escapades Camp

Campers entering 6-9 grade: Student must have graduated 5th grade and be at least 11 years old. New this year! Experience the ultimate thrill of outdoor adventure at both our River Campus and Mountain Campus. This camp is a fresh addition to our lineup this year, with a seamless blend of day and overnight adventures. Your child will experience two whole days of fly fishing along the Arkansas River with expert instruction from Trout Unlimited & The Drift Fly Shop. They will have the opportunity to “hit the target” with the skill of archery. Then, they will travel to Beulah with our NWDC rangers to gain outdoor survival skills, hike the historic trails of the Pueblo Mountain Park, and stay overnight at the Horseshoe Lodge. Get ready for a dynamic and unforgettable journey into the heart of outdoor exploration

  • Schedule for the week: This camp is a mixture of both day and overnight experiences. Please review the schedule to see what the week will look like:
    -Day 1 Monday (Drop off & Pick up): Team building & Fly Fishing in partnership with Trout Unlimited & The Drift Fly Shop (Please pack your own lunch & snacks)
    Day 2 Tuesday (Drop off & Pick up): Fly Fishing in partnership with Trout Unlimited & The Drift Fly Shop (Please pack your own lunch & snacks)
    -Day 3 Wednesday (Drop off & Overnight stay): Archery & Campfire Safety: Travel to Mountain Campus in Beulah for overnight (NWDC will provide Dinner this day)
    -Day 4 Thursday (Overnight at the Horshoelodge) Hiking, survival skills & the 10 essentials (NWDC Provides All Meals)
    -Day 5 Friday (Pick up & Camp Ends) Stewardship Project- Travel back to river campus for pick up. (NWDC will provide breakfast and lunch)

Step 2:  Please be sure that you have received our confirmation email. This email will contain all of your registration details.  Remember to check your “junk” folder because some email providers will try to place it there.

Summer Camp Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations made within 30-15 days before the first day of the camp will be fully refundable minus a $10.00 deposit. Cancellations made within 14-7 days before the camp start date will forfeit 50% of the total cost of camp. We are sorry, but we cannot give any refund when there is a cancellation 0-7 days before the camp start date. Thank you for your understanding of our cancellation policies.
