June 2023 – Ranger Ramblings

This fall, our Earth Studies students got to see incredible biodiversity firsthand on their first trip of the year to visit us!

This spider is the goldenrod crab spider, or more generally, the flower (crab) spider. It is most commonly found hunting in flowers.

Unfortunately, most insects like moths are specialists, meaning they only eat one type of plant, and lay their eggs on these plants.

After we fed and monitored the little owlets for a few days, we moved them out to their new and temporary home.
