July 2023 – Ranger Ramblings

On Thursday August 8th, the Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center team had an incredible staff retreat at the Mountain Campus!

The Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center recently partnered with the Pueblo Zoo and the Buell Children’s Museum for nature programming.

We participated in a silent hike, an egg dissection, and an egg experiment (pictured above), which was my favorite activity of the day.

On the first day of the new year, families and nature enthusiasts embraced the outdoors and took literal steps towards a healthy lifestyle.

It sometimes takes awhile for students to realize the human impacts on the river, such as personal use and growing crops.

A highlight of the past month for me was hiking with a group of kids from the Boys and Girls Club to the top of Lookout Point.
