July 2023 – Ranger Ramblings

After we fed and monitored the little owlets for a few days, we moved them out to their new and temporary home.

Many children enjoy our camps so much that they return year after year, but it’s equally awesome having new campers join in the fun.

This fall, our Earth Studies students got to see incredible biodiversity firsthand on their first trip of the year to visit us!

We observed many trees that had been chewed and knocked over, and with the recent snow even some beaver track!

For local owl enthusiast Olivia Abeyta-Maestas, who had donned an owl-themed hat for the evening, it was an unforgettable moment.

Environmental education can take students out of their comfort zone by just driving from the plains life zone to the foothills.
