February 2023 – Ranger Ramblings

Many children enjoy our camps so much that they return year after year, but it’s equally awesome having new campers join in the fun.

Beulah School of Natural Sciences (BSNS) recently kicked off the school year with their first visit to the Pueblo Mountain Park!

NWDC Raptor Center Director Diana Miller drew a beautiful red-tailed hawk out from a portable carrier and held it up for all to see.

This spider is the goldenrod crab spider, or more generally, the flower (crab) spider. It is most commonly found hunting in flowers.

On the last day of camp, the campers had the honor of moving five baby owls and one adult owl to the flight cage…
