AVAS Bird Walks

On the fourth Saturday of each month, the Arkansas Valley Audubon Society (AVAS) sponsors and hosts a public bird walk in partnership with the NWDC at the River Campus. Here are public records about each event including the number of participants and the bird species that were identified.

Five participants observed sixteen species along the Arkansas River at the NWDC River Campus on the fall morning of September 28, 2024.

Six participants observed sixteen species along the Arkansas River at the NWDC River Campus on the warm morning of August 24, 2024.

Four participants observed 14 species along the Arkansas River at the NWDC River Campus on the cool, crisp morning of August 10, 2024.

The AVAS bird walk on July 13, 2024 attracted 14 participants who together observed a total of 19 different bird species.

The AVAS bird walk on June 22, 2024 attracted 14 participants on a warm, humid day with thousands of mosquitoes and 17 bird species.

On the lovely, warm, birdy morning of May 25, 2024, twenty participants observed a total of 20 different bird species.
