Join Pueblo native, current world traveler Brenda Porter in exploring the Mountain Park with new awareness through nature sketching. Stop along the trail to try out different sketching techniques that will enhance your observation skills and record what you see and experience.
You may choose to participate on Saturday, Sunday or both days for the same price!
Bring your own supplies or purchase Brenda’s custom-designed hikers sketch kit for an additional $30 (includes a journal, mini set of water colors with artist grade paints, water brush, and pen). When you register please select applicable Program Price + Hiker Sketch Kit option.
This is a full day outdoor experience. Please dress for the weather and bring a small pack with a sack lunch, water, rain gear, hat and sunscreen.
If you want to spend a night or two at the Horseshoe Lodge, then this may be the perfect opportunity for a summer weekend getaway to the mountains!

You may recognize Brenda Porter as she was the Keynote speaker at our 2019 Earth Day Dinner! She shared her wonderful experiences making connections in nature around the world. She has offered to continue to share her passion and experiences here at NWDC. Brenda is a Pueblo native that has woven outdoor leadership into her career since 1980, when she began leading backpack trips with the Girl Scouts on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. With a B.S. in Biology Education, Brenda has worked as a naturalist, outdoor educator, and trip leader for several non-profit organizations and regional park districts.…
